40 awarded Singapore Police Force, Ministry of Home Affairs scholarships

Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam says technology alone will not be enough to keep Singapore safe, as threats such as internet-enabled crime evolve. At the Singapore Police Force Scholarship and Ministry of Home Affairs Scholarships award ceremony, Mr Shamugam said people with good judgment, commitment and purpose will remain critical. The 40 recipients include those pursuing careers in policing, as well as science and technology. Eighteen will study overseas in the UK, US or China. Nikhil Khattar spoke to Public Service Commission Scholarship recipient Matilda Davies, who will study engineering at the University of Cambridge, and Singapore Police Force scholar Raynen Ngoh, who is headed for the London School of Economics.
