The economic calendar is relatively light for the rest of this week, but the releases may still matter after the Federal Reserve signalled a more hawkish bias towards policy tightening, in the wake of persistent inflation pressures. Today’s US manufacturing purchasing managers' index is expected to come in at 53.6, with services at 56.0 – while both are slightly lower month-on-month, these figures would evidence continued expansion. The prices-paid component of the PMI release will be closely watched for signs of whether inflation pressures are easing.
