China's Geely Auto Group to enter the Canadian auto market in 2027

Chinese electric vehicle automaker Geely has announced plans to enter the Canadian market. The company says it has assembled a local team and begun building a retail and service network. Earlier this year, Canada and China reached an agreement allowing 49,000 Chinese EVs to be exported to Canada. As the trade dispute between Canada and the United States continues, Prime Minister Mark Carney's administration is looking to forge new partnerships, including with China.
