Bishkek Summit Spotlight: The SCO's 25 years and original aspiration

The 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (#SCO2026) Summit is being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. CGTN's Wang Guan observed from the summit venue that the SCO, born 25 years ago out of border demarcation and security needs, has now grown into a diverse regional platform encompassing security, economy, culture, ecology and more. In a previous interview, one of the SCO's founding members, Uzbekistan's First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Sodiq Safoyev, reviewed with Wang Guan the original vision behind the SCO's establishment, the essence of the "Shanghai Spirit," and also shared his expectations for this summit.
