Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is preparing to receive 30,000 North Korean troops and additional missile launchers, which he stated poses a threat to Asian countries. Zelensky also indicated that Russia is preparing for a massive missile attack on Ukraine within the next 48 hours and a significant wave of mobilization in the fall.
Zelensky stated that intelligence suggests Russia has readied missiles for a new attack, which could occur imminently. Earlier on July 24, a Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv hit an arms exhibition, killing at least ten people and injuring over 100. Additionally, a Russian missile strike on July 19 hit a civilian cargo ship in the Black Sea, killing 10 people.
Regarding mobilization, Zelensky reiterated that Russia is losing more troops on the front than it is recruiting and is preparing for a new, significant wave in the fall. He previously stated that Russia enlisted 221,000 people in 2026, with nearly 225,500 losses, including 131,000 killed.
In separate incidents, a Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jet shot down a drone that violated Romanian airspace on July 26, marking the third such incident in three days. Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Russia’s ambassador over the violations. Ukrainian forces also struck a Chornomornaftogaz facility in occupied Crimea and a bridge in Donetsk Oblast.
