Ukrainian forces struck the Black Sea Fleet naval base in Novorossiysk overnight, damaging four Russian warships, including two frigates, a small missile ship, and a patrol ship. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine used Palianytsia jet-powered drones, Neptune anti-ship cruise missiles, and naval drones in the operation, targeting air defense positions, piers, and port infrastructure. The attack resulted in one fatality, an 8-year-old boy, and injured eight others, with drone debris damaging residential buildings and businesses. A grain terminal also temporarily suspended operations.
Separately, Zelensky announced that Ukraine had liberated 745 square kilometers of territory in the Oleksandrivka sector since January, returning 26 villages to Ukrainian control. He also claimed nearly 10,000 Russian soldiers were killed and over 6,600 wounded during this period.
In other developments, members of Ukraine's 121st Territorial Defense Brigade reported facing severe shortages of food and water on the front lines in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, with their command promising evacuation when the security situation allows. The brigade stated that essential supplies are being delivered according to schedule, but adverse weather and Russian actions can cause delays.
