French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz are scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in London on Sunday, June 7. The Elysee stated that the meeting will facilitate continued coordination on supporting Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia's war effort. The statement noted Russia's ongoing military, economic, and strategic failures despite persistent frontline efforts. Zelenskiy is reportedly seeking increased European efforts to end the Ukraine war, expressing concern over potential U.S. distraction. This follows Zelenskiy's recent open letter urging Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet for peace talks, a proposal the Kremlin has been briefed on. Macron previously advocated for direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, suggesting Europeans could assist in building a ceasefire and peace plan. Merz stated that dialogue is welcome but missing Putin's willingness.
