The platform has assembled a comprehensive commentary panel featuring Indian football legends, global experts, and seasoned broadcasters, including Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Bhaichung Bhutia, Robin Singh, I M Vijayan, Igor Stimac, Ashley Westwood, Aditi Chauhan, Karan Sawhney, Shyju Damodaran, and Seema Jaswal.
The broadcaster is positioning the acquisition as a direct subscription play, aiming to drive users to ZEE5 by offering dedicated FIFA World Cup subscription plans. While Zee is already part of bundled plans with telecom providers like Airtel, Vi, and Jio, viewers will need to purchase specific FIFA packs. Two digital subscription plans have been launched: ₹799 for three months and ₹1,699 annually. Industry executives noted that Zee is not pursuing telecom partnerships for FIFA, despite such bundles typically accounting for a significant portion of paid subscribers for streaming platforms. Notably, FIFA matches will not be streamed in 4K, a standard for premium sports broadcasting.
