Xi, Kim reaffirm strategic cooperation on treaty anniversary

Separately, Kim Jong Un denounced corruption within the military at a rare joint meeting of the ruling party, government, and army. State media reported that Pak Hui-chol, a former vice-director in charge of organizational affairs of the General Political Bureau of the People's Army, was punished by the Supreme Court for various corrupt acts, including abuses of authority and embezzlement.

Kim stressed that all officials must uphold principle and uprightness, prioritize the people, and enhance the party's efforts to root out irregularities and corruption.
