Wellington Management, Vanguard, and Blackstone are collaborating to launch two new investment funds aimed at wealthy individuals. These funds are designed to provide access to a blend of public and private market investments, catering to a growing demand for diversified and potentially higher-return opportunities among affluent investors.
The WVB All Markets Fund will combine public equities, fixed income, and index strategies with Blackstone's private market expertise. The WVB Blackstone All Privates Fund will offer broader access across Blackstone's private market platform, including private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and credit.
These new vehicles will be accessible to high-net-worth and mass-affluent clients through their advisors at Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank. Mark Sutterlin, head of alternative investments at Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank, noted that clients are increasingly seeking greater access to private markets.
Globally, the wealth of high-net-worth individuals reached $98.3 trillion by the end of 2025, according to Capgemini. Despite recent outflows from some private credit and private equity funds due to concerns over asset valuations, particularly in software companies impacted by AI advancements, Blackstone President Jon Gray stated that private markets offer premium returns, lower volatility, and diversification benefits.
