More than 43 million Americans have already cast their ballots in the US midterm elections, with less than a week remaining until Election Day. Data from the University of Florida Election Lab indicates a significant surge in early voting, with daily rates much higher than in previous elections. Texas has emerged as a key battleground, already surpassing its 2022 early vote numbers by approximately 1.75 million. Professor Mike McDonald, who manages the Election Lab database, noted that Hispanic communities are showing a notably higher turnout. Overall, early voting appears on track to outpace both the 2020 and 2018 midterm elections.
