Unicoin sues Uniswap Labs, seeks to cancel UNI registration

The complaint details that Uniswap's legal counsel had previously sent three demand letters to Unicoin on June 3, July 17, and August 14. These letters accused Unicoin of trademark infringement, dilution, cybersquatting, and unfair competition, threatening further legal action. Uniswap's demands included that Unicoin cease using the UNICOIN mark and other UNI-formative marks, transfer its unicoin.com and unicoin.org domain names, provide an accounting of revenue and profits, and reimburse legal fees.

Unicoin is also asking the court to declare that its unicoin.com and unicoin.org domains do not violate the federal Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. The lawsuit was filed shortly before Unicoin's listed public launch date of September 28 for its UNCN token. At the time of reporting, the Uniswap protocol ranked first among decentralized exchanges by 24-hour volume, with over $3.9 billion, according to DeFiLlama.
