Ukraine's military intelligence agency (HUR) has successfully struck Russian radar systems in occupied Crimea for the first time using newly developed Magura naval platforms equipped with FPV drones. The operation, conducted by HUR's Group 13 special unit in late July, targeted a command vehicle for a Podlet radar system and a Parol-4 identification friend-or-foe radar interrogator.
HUR stated that this development marks a significant shift, enabling Ukrainian forces to threaten Russian occupiers on land in Crimea. The agency also reported that Group 13 has previously destroyed 17 Russian naval and aerial targets using Magura naval drones.
Separately, explosions and fires were reported across occupied Crimea overnight on August 3, leading to the closure of the Crimean Bridge. President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the circumvention of sanctions by key Russian ballistic missile manufacturers, urging for closer international coordination to impose secondary sanctions on financial institutions that facilitate Russia's defense industry supply chain. He noted that some Russian enterprises operate through offshore jurisdictions and China.
In other developments, a Russian attack on a gas station in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast killed three people, including a rescue worker and his son.
