The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on June 11 that Russia has sustained approximately 1,378,820 troops lost since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022. This figure includes 1,310 casualties reported for the preceding day.
In addition to personnel losses, the report detailed significant equipment losses for Russian forces, including 12,010 tanks, 24,727 armored combat vehicles, 105,498 vehicles and fuel tanks, 43,787 artillery systems, 1,859 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,416 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 342,651 drones, 1,628 unmanned ground vehicles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.
Ukraine's General Staff has maintained operational secrecy regarding its own losses. However, independent Western think-tank reports, such as one from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in January 2026, suggest that Russian casualties significantly surpass Ukraine's, with casualty ratios estimated between 2:1 and 2.5:1. The CSIS report estimated Ukraine's total casualties from February 2022 to December 2025 to be between 500,000 and 600,000, with 100,000 to 140,000 killed in action.
