Ukrainian experts have launched a new Drone Security Index (DSI) to help European countries bolster their defenses against increasing drone attacks. Developed by the European-Ukrainian defense tech alliance New Age Defense and the Ukrainian think tank BRDO, the index evaluates national preparedness across prevention, detection, response, and recovery. The initiative comes amid a rise in drone incidents across Europe, with 129 recorded in 18 EU countries between early 2022 and October 2026. Germany, which has experienced 23 confirmed attacks since 2022, will be among the first countries to undergo a pilot assessment.
