U.S. President Donald Trump campaigned in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, pledging to swiftly end the Iran war and reduce high prices, which he linked to the conflict. The campaign stop was part of the Republican strategy to maintain their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, as voters express frustration over rising living costs and gasoline prices. Trump stated that progress in negotiations with Iran could come soon and that fertilizer prices would decrease. Attendees at the event, held in a farm building, included both die-hard supporters and those skeptical of recent policies. The district's incumbent, Representative Derrick Van Orden, is closely aligned with Trump and is a target for Democrats. Van Orden's challenger, Rebecca Cooke, suggested Republicans brought Trump to the district due to her race being tight and argued that Trump's policies, including tariffs and the war in Iran, are hurting farmers. The average gas price in Wisconsin is reported to be $4.04 per gallon, $1.08 higher than a year ago. Trump's Wisconsin trip is one of several visits by top administration officials to the district.
