Major television networks have announced a boycott of President Donald Trump's press conferences and other designated pool events, according to a report by Politico. The decision stems from the White House's barring of journalists from CNN, MS NOW, and Politico.
The White House TV pool, which consists of ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and Fox News, will no longer film events designated for pool coverage of the President. Bryan Boughton, Washington bureau chief for Fox News, confirmed the boycott in an email, stating that "The TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the President." He added, "This follows the White House's position preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties," and that "There will be no replacement pool put in place."
CNN had been scheduled to cover the president's briefing and share the feed with the other networks in the pool, which rotate coverage duties.
