TikTok enhances comments with voice, polls, and photo uploads

Voice comments allow users to record audio messages up to a minute long, which can then be listened to by anyone. These comments are subject to the platform's Community Guidelines and are monitored using a combination of human and automated tools. This feature is rolling out globally to users aged 18 and older over the next month.

Creators will now have the ability to add polls to their own video comments, a feature previously available to some users but now being rolled out globally. These polls can be used for various purposes, such as gathering feedback on future video ideas, choosing outfits, or deciding on meals. Creators can set a timeframe for the poll and track results directly within the comment section, with up to five voting options available.

Additionally, the platform is enhancing photo sharing in comments. Users can now upload up to nine photos in a single comment, a significant increase from the previous limit of one. Live Photo comments are also being introduced, offering a short burst of motion for a preview before viewing the full image. Live Photo comments are available globally, while photo carousel comments are rolling out worldwide over the next month.
