In a separate but related operation, police in Mae Sot, Tak Province, raided three commercial buildings near the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge. These facilities were found to be illegally transmitting internet signals into Myawaddy, a major scam center hub opposite Mae Sot. The raids followed alerts from a telecommunications operator about abnormal bandwidth usage.
The operations are part of a wider nationwide crackdown on scam centers operating from Southeast Asia.
