On September 19, 2025, the Garcias entered the family's home in Grant, Minnesota, at gunpoint, zip-tied the family members, and held them for nine hours. During the ordeal, Isiah Garcia compelled the father to transfer cryptocurrency funds. In total, more than $8 million was transferred.
The family's son managed to contact 911, and the brothers fled the scene. Law enforcement identified the suspects using evidence left behind, including a rifle and shotgun.
