The Presidential Office of National Security convened an emergency meeting following the launch, which occurred around 5:20 a.m. from the Wonsan area, according to the South Korean military. During the meeting, officials assessed the impact of the launch on the country's security situation and emphasized the need for a firm readiness posture. The office also issued a call for an immediate cessation of such actions. This incident follows the conclusion of the five-day Freedom Edge exercise, conducted by Seoul, Washington, and Tokyo in international waters east and south of South Korea's southern island of Jeju.
