Salesforce has agreed to acquire Rune Technologies, a startup that develops AI software for military logistics and supply chain prediction, for $375 million in cash and stock, according to Resilience Media. The deal signifies Salesforce's strategic expansion into the defense technology sector through its Missionforce unit, which has experienced substantial growth, partly due to a recent 10-year, $5.6 billion contract with the U.S. Army. Rune, founded in 2024, has previously raised $30 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Point72 Ventures, and was last valued at $127 million. This acquisition follows a series of other major deals by Salesforce this year, including the planned purchase of Fin for $3.6 billion.
