Ripple Treasury has enhanced its GSmart AI platform with a suite of policy-enforced artificial intelligence features designed for corporate treasury operations. The update introduces expanded capabilities in forecasting, liquidity management, risk assessment, reconciliation, and reporting, aiming to increase automation while retaining human oversight for financial transactions.
GSmart separates financial calculations from AI interpretation, ensuring core treasury decisions remain tied to deterministic engines. The AI then reads policies, identifies patterns, and explains its recommendations before users approve financial transactions. The system includes specialized agents that flag activities potentially violating company policies, with each recommendation referencing the specific policy clause that triggered it.
Knowledge Studio serves as the governance layer for these agents, enabling treasury teams to establish internal controls. The 'Ask GSmart' feature, part of Analytics Studio, provides a conversational interface for users to query treasury-related data.
The launch aligns with the growing adoption of autonomous software in business functions. Gartner forecasts that by 2028, an average Fortune 500 company will utilize over 150,000 AI agents. However, only 13% of organizations feel they have adequate AI agent governance in place, a gap Ripple aims to fill by ensuring human approval for financial transactions within GSmart.
Renaat Ver Eecke, SVP of Ripple Treasury, noted the pressure on CFOs to adopt AI, emphasizing the need for explainable, governed, and compliant financial decisions. GSmart's features are already in use across Ripple Treasury's enterprise customer base. According to Ripple, 60% of eligible customers have activated Risk Insights for exposure anomalies and policy breaches, while 44% of qualified customers are using Forecast Insights to compare anticipated and actual cash flows and identify potential liquidity gaps.
This expansion follows Ripple Treasury's growth in corporate payments and treasury management. Ripple previously claimed over 1,000 customers had processed more than $13 trillion in transactions on its platform throughout 2025, a figure that includes business from the former GTreasury platform, which Ripple acquired and renamed Ripple Treasury in 2025. The company plans to showcase its expanded platform at Sibos 2026 in Miami.
