Rare brown wood owl chicks fledge in Hong Kong

The brown wood owl is described as one of the largest native owl species in Hong Kong. It is believed to have naturally established itself in the region from southern China within the last two decades, indicating the ecological maturity of Hong Kong's forests. The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists the species as least concern, though habitat loss remains a threat.
