Florida's Palm Beach International Airport has been officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, with its three-letter airport code also changing from PBI to DJT. The renaming ceremony took place on July 9, and the code change followed on Tuesday. President Trump expressed his honor at the renaming, calling it a "Great Honor" in a Truth Social post. The project is estimated to cost around $5.5 million, with $2.75 million of that amount financed by state funding. The airport acknowledged that the name change might be received differently by passengers but affirmed its commitment to providing a safe and welcoming travel experience. This renaming marks the first time a sitting U.S. president has had an airport named after them during their term.
