Noida International Airport (NIA) is scheduled to commence commercial flight operations on June 15, with passengers initially facing limited transport options. Due to the absence of metro connectivity and a delayed electric bus service, app-based taxis and private vehicles will be the primary means of reaching the facility, located approximately 65 km from key population centers in Noida and east Delhi.
Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) is collaborating with mobility providers such as Uber, Ola, and Rapido to ensure passenger movement. Dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones have been established, and Uber has confirmed its services will be available from day one, offering various ride categories. Rapido plans to leverage existing drivers and assess fleet expansion based on demand, with fare structures expected to be consistent with other airports. Mahindra Mobility is anticipated to introduce electric taxi services.
Local taxi drivers are preparing for an increase in demand. Drivers currently estimate fares from Noida to the airport between Rs 500 and Rs 1,400, depending on the starting point and service. Some drivers see advantages in servicing Noida airport over Delhi's IGI Airport due to potentially more predictable travel times.
Meanwhile, the Noida Authority and UPSRTC are preparing to launch 100 air-conditioned electric buses, with the airport route prioritized. Approximately 30 buses have arrived, and services are expected to begin shortly before the airport's operational launch. Routes and fares have been finalized, aiming to bolster public transport connectivity.
