This decision comes after Diggs was acquitted last month of charges including felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery. These charges stemmed from an alleged incident on December 2 at his Massachusetts home, where his former live-in personal chef, Jamila Adams, testified that Diggs assaulted her during an argument. A jury deliberated for less than two hours before reaching a not guilty verdict on all counts.
Diggs played for the New England Patriots in the most recent season, recording 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. He was released by the team in March and remains an unsigned free agent. The NFL has previously suspended players for personal conduct policy violations even without criminal charges.
