Russian missiles struck at least two districts in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, early on Thursday, causing fires and killing two people. The air alert was lifted after approximately one hour. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that a storage area was hit in a western suburb, and debris fell on the opposite bank of the Dnipro River. Reuters witnesses heard a series of explosions in the city. Russia's defense ministry stated it hit military and industrial facilities in Kyiv involved in drone production and storage, as well as infrastructure at the ports of Odesa and Pivdennyi. The ministry also claimed a maritime vessel and a high-speed boat belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces were struck. This marks the sixth such attack on Kyiv in July alone.
