Cryptocurrency exchange MEXC has launched staking support for Bittensor's TAO token, enabling its 40 million users to earn rewards by contributing to the decentralized AI network. The integration with validator Yuma aims to expand access to Bittensor's ecosystem of 128 specialized subnets.
This integration expands access to the growing decentralized AI sector for millions of cryptocurrency users, potentially increasing participation and development within the Bittensor network.
Cryptocurrency exchange MEXC has introduced staking services for Bittensor's native TAO token, enabling its global user base to earn rewards by supporting the decentralized artificial intelligence network. The integration, announced by Bittensor validator Yuma, provides MEXC's approximately 40 million users with access to the Bittensor ecosystem.
Yuma, a validator on the Bittensor network, evaluates subnet performance and assigns weights to determine staking reward distribution. This collaboration aims to broaden access to Bittensor and encourage greater participation within its network. Bittensor operates as a decentralized platform for developing AI models and services, with its subnets competing based on performance and utility.
TAO token holders can stake their assets with validators, who then distribute these stakes across various subnets. The Bittensor ecosystem currently comprises 128 subnets dedicated to diverse AI tasks, including inference, model training, coding assistance, and financial modeling. The growth of this ecosystem is attributed to increasing interest in decentralized AI, with proponents highlighting its resilience against potential government or corporate restrictions, a point underscored by recent US Commerce Department actions concerning proprietary AI models.
