Meta stated on Saturday that an automated trigger was responsible for the suspension of the No Kings movement's Instagram account during a nationwide effort to mobilize early voting. The group, which describes itself as nonpartisan and formed in response to President Donald Trump's actions, reported that its account was inaccessible for several hours at a critical time.
In a statement on X, Meta spokesman Andy Stone explained that accounts posting or sharing content at very high frequencies can prompt an automated response. He acknowledged that this was the case for the No Kings account and that the action was taken in error. Stone confirmed that the account is now functioning as expected and offered an apology.
