Meijer has surpassed Buc-ee's to become the top convenience store brand in the U.S., according to the latest data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). The report, released on October 6, 2026, ranked Meijer highest with a customer satisfaction score of 82 out of 100.
Meijer, primarily known for its grocery store operations across six Midwestern states, also offers fueling stations that received high customer satisfaction rates. The retailer's rewards program reportedly saved customers $200 million over the past year, contributing to its improved score.
Last year's top-ranked convenience store, Kwik Trip, slipped to third place this year with a score of 79. Sheetz, another Midwest-based brand, edged out Meijer by a single point in regional rankings for the Midwest, also scoring 80. Wawa secured the top spot in the Northeast and South regions with a score of 80, while Maverik and QuikTrip tied in the West.
Other brands considered in the ACSI report included Murphy USA (79), and Buc-ee’s, Pilot, RaceTrac, and Shell, all scoring 77. Kwik Trip saw the largest drop in rankings, losing six points from its previous score.
