Lucid Group's third-quarter deliveries fell short of Wall Street estimates, as the luxury electric vehicle maker reduced production and relied on existing inventory to meet sales targets as part of a cost-saving initiative. The company delivered 3,806 vehicles for the quarter ended September 30, below the average analyst estimate of 4,687, according to Visible Alpha data. Production for the quarter was 2,954 vehicles, also below the expected 3,709. This output represented a 38% decrease from the second quarter, following the elimination of a second shift at its Arizona plant. Lucid sold 852 more vehicles than it produced, turning unsold cars into sales. The company stated this is part of a cost-saving initiative targeting $1.4 billion in cash flow improvements this year. Lucid has delivered 10,852 vehicles so far this year, and to meet the full-year analyst estimate of approximately 17,070, it would need to deliver around 6,200 vehicles in the fourth quarter, surpassing its previous quarterly record.
