The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has announced plans to introduce a 24-hour trading venue, named LSE24, in the first half of 2027. This new platform will operate five days a week, offering global investors greater flexibility to respond to market events and access liquidity across different time zones. LSE24 will function separately from the LSE’s Main Market, which will maintain its existing trading hours. Initially, the venue will focus on Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), with client testing scheduled for the end of 2026. LSEG stated that LSE24 will leverage its digital markets infrastructure to support deeper liquidity and broader participation, reinforcing London's status as a financial center. The move comes as the LSE faces competition from crypto firms and overseas markets, with a significant number of companies delisting from London's public markets.
