The MP noted the absence of the word 'withdrawal' in the outcomes of the latest talks, describing the statements as vague. He further stated that Hezbollah does not endorse the continuation of this direct negotiation process, anticipating that future rounds would yield similar results.
In parallel, Iran's Chief Justice Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei stated that Iranians "absolutely do not trust the Americans," attributing this distrust to historical events. He claimed that Iran has been successful in countering its adversaries during the ongoing conflict.
Meanwhile, the conflict in southern Lebanon has seen an Israeli attack result in the death of Ali Badie, the mayor of Ar-Rihan municipality in the Jezzine district. The Israeli military also targeted municipalities in the Jezzine district with drone attacks, and separate attacks were reported in the city of Khiam and other towns in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun remarked that the country is at a "fateful juncture," facing a choice between establishing a sovereign state that monopolizes arms and upholds the rule of law, or remaining under the influence of militias and exclusionary practices. He emphasized the necessity of national unity.
In other developments, Iranian officials reported the arrest of a suspected spy in Pishva county, near Tehran, accused of contact with foreign espionage elements. Separately, reports suggest that Lebanon will continue to be a point of contention in future US-Iran negotiations, with differing positions on its inclusion in any potential agreement.
