PGA Tour winner Kim Joo-hyung captured the men's golf gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Saturday, and also helped South Korea secure the team silver medal. Kim shot a six-under 64 in the final round at Kasugai Country Club East Course to finish at 18-under 262. The victory earns Kim, 24, an exemption from South Korea's mandatory military service, a benefit previously received by fellow PGA Tour players Kim Si-woo and Im Sung-jae. Three players tied for second place, leading to a playoff for silver and bronze. Kazuki Higa of Japan won silver, and Sadom Kaewkanjana secured bronze over Ding Wenyi of China. In the team standings, South Korea finished second behind China with a combined score of 26-under, based on the two best scores from each country per round. Kim had entered the final round with a one-stroke lead over Higa and Wang Hei-Hsuan of Chinese Taipei.
