JPMorgan Chase is bolstering its technology investment banking division by hiring veteran dealmaker David Fishman from Bank of America. Fishman will join JPMorgan later this year as the head of North America technology mergers and acquisitions, according to a memo seen by Reuters.
This move is part of JPMorgan's strategy to form a new investment banking group dedicated to supporting its most important technology clients. Vineet Seth, who previously led technology M&A in North America, will be elevated to vice chair of investment banking. Both Fishman and Seth will also play roles on the bank's Technology M&A Leadership and Advisory Council.
Fishman spent nearly 16 years at Bank of America, where he most recently served as co-head of technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) investment banking. His departure follows a series of other senior investment bankers leaving Bank of America, including Mike Joo and Amy Lissauer. Lissauer is also joining JPMorgan later this year, while Ed Liu has moved to Deutsche Bank and Rohan Sen has been hired by Citigroup to lead technology services coverage.
