Jessica Hayes has taken on a new role as a senior adviser working in the 9th District for Representative Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.). Hayes has a history of public service, having previously held significant positions within the congressional office of former Representative Jody Hice (R-Ga.).
Hayes served as deputy chief of staff for Hice from January 1, 2016, to March 20, 2022, before becoming chief of staff from March 21, 2022, to January 2, 2023. She then transitioned to the role of district director from January 3, 2023, to December 31, 2024. Hayes also held a part-time district director position from March 10, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
During her tenure with Hice, Hayes was instrumental in assisting constituents during the chaotic U.S. evacuation of Afghanistan in August 2021. She described the effort as a "holy calling" and noted that district staff were on the front lines of serving constituents in need. The efforts of Hice and his staff, including Hayes, were credited with helping approximately 12,500 people evacuate the country.
