Israeli strikes in the southern and central Gaza Strip on Monday killed at least eight people, including two children, and wounded at least 20 others, according to health and emergency officials. In Jan Yunis, an attack on a tent in the Al-Mawasi neighborhood killed a 23-year-old mother and her one-year-old daughter, according to Nasser Hospital. Another strike in the same area hit a tent housing displaced people, killing two and injuring 13, officials said. In Deir al-Balah, a drone strike hit a tent in the Al-Mawasi area, killing Hassan al-Hanagra, his 8-year-old grandson Malik Abu Shawish, and another man, according to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The hospital reported that Abu Shawish's mother was among seven injured. The Israeli military stated that the Deir al-Balah strike targeted a militant but did not identify the individual or confirm their death. On Sunday, an Israeli strike killed Zaher Abu Salem, whom the Israeli army described as an Islamic Jihad member involved in the Oct. 7 attack. A 13-year-old girl was also killed by Israeli tank shelling on Sunday. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces conducted raids, including near Ramallah, where a 15-year-old boy was killed by a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Two people were injured by Israeli fire near Hebron. Since a ceasefire in October, Israeli forces have conducted near-daily attacks, killing 1,045 Palestinians, including over 360 women and children, according to Gaza health officials.
