Israeli drone strike kills four in southern Lebanon amid ceasefire violations

An Israeli drone strike killed four people in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh district, marking a violation of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The attack targeted a vehicle, according to Lebanon's state news agency.

Earlier, an Israeli drone strike in the town of Toul killed two people and injured two others, involving a missile hitting a car. The Israeli military stated it attacked sites linked to Hezbollah, including a military camp and a precision missile production site, and later claimed to have killed Abbas Hassan Karky, identified as the logistics commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front headquarters, in the Nabatieh area.

Separately, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported an Israeli air strike on the Kroum al-Marah neighbourhood in the Marjayoun district with no injuries reported.

The Israeli army stated it targeted the Al-Aqida area in southern Lebanon, claiming that "four suspects" approaching the so-called security zone in a vehicle posed a threat to its forces. It was unclear if this referred to the same attack that killed four in Nabatieh.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has requested intervention from the U.S. and France to restrain Israel. Previous Israeli drone attacks in southern Lebanon have resulted in civilian casualties, including five deaths, among them three children.
