IBM partners with OpenAI on enterprise security AI

As part of this partnership, IBM has launched a new application security service that utilizes OpenAI's cyber capabilities to help organizations identify and validate software vulnerabilities with increased speed and precision. This new service is built upon IBM's Project Lightwell initiative, which was launched last month to deploy engineers and AI tools to enhance the security of open-source software. IBM and Red Hat have committed $5 billion to Project Lightwell.

Project Lightwell will leverage OpenAI's cyber capabilities alongside other advanced AI models for code review and remediation. Mark Hughes, global managing partner for cybersecurity services at IBM Consulting, stated that the partnership expands access to advanced AI capabilities, enabling faster identification of relevant risks for clients.
