This strategic move aims to position India as a key production and export hub for the South Korean automaker.
The investment plan was formalized following a meeting between Hyundai Motor Group executive chair Euisun Chung and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on October 13, 2026. Beyond core manufacturing and R&D, the group plans to explore investments in areas such as electric vehicle charging infrastructure, specialized automotive financing, and end-of-life vehicle recycling.
