BMW Group reported a 6.3% year-on-year decline in global vehicle deliveries for the third quarter, with sales in China falling by 24.8%. The company delivered 551,072 vehicles between July and September. This downturn reflects intensifying competition from Chinese manufacturers impacting sales volumes.
Despite the overall decrease, deliveries saw an increase of 2.5% in the US and 2.7% in Europe. Battery electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries for the group rose by 7.2% in the third quarter. The company confirmed its adjusted financial full-year targets, citing a robust and resilient business model.
German peers Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche AG have also reported declining third-quarter deliveries, largely due to a significant drop in volumes in China. The BMW Group's strategy of technology neutrality and a broad model portfolio, including strong performance from BMW M and electrified vehicles, contributed to its ability to meet full-year targets. Electrified models accounted for 26.2% of total sales year-to-date, with BEVs representing 18.0% of total sales.
