Legal AI startup Harvey has announced a new funding round of $550 million, bringing its valuation to $15.5 billion. This latest investment, co-led by Diffusion and Lightspeed Venture Partners, represents a significant increase from its previous $11 billion valuation in March and $8 billion in December.
With this infusion of capital, Harvey has now raised over $1.55 billion in total and has nearly doubled its valuation in about nine months. The company has completed at least eight priced funding rounds since 2023.
The funding follows the recent announcement of Harvey's first in-house model, Harvey Tenet, which was built using the open-weight model Kimi K3 and post-trained with legal data. Harvey is also encouraging its customers to adopt and post-train their own open-weight models, positioning itself as a key player in the AI adoption within the legal industry, independent of proprietary frontier AI labs.
