Whitney Stefko Dover, a director and senior counsel of policy and legal operations at Ford, has placed her custom-built Claude AI assistant, Claudette, on a performance improvement plan as a new ChatGPT-based agent named Gigi takes over family chief of staff duties. Dover had previously described Claudette as having "probably saved our marriage" for organizing schedules, childcare, travel, and household chores into a "Daily Dover" briefing email and drafting morning texts for her husband.
However, Dover told Business Insider that Gigi, encouraged by her husband and a recent A16z post, now offers a superior interface, maintains better continuity, and produces stronger first drafts of emails and presentations, often making proactive suggestions. The transition was reportedly smooth, with Dover uploading her previous guide for Claudette into ChatGPT to transfer context. Gigi now also assists with weekly grocery shopping by filling online carts, though Dover still reviews and pays for the orders.
Dover acknowledged that Gigi still makes occasional contextual errors, such as suggesting her husband send flowers to a friend's wife or recommending an excessive amount of pasta. Despite these instances, she finds Gigi makes fewer contextual errors than Claudette and remembers more about her various roles. Dover indicated that no AI assistant has a permanent position, emphasizing continuous iteration. She has since added a third AI assistant, Ingrid, built with Instinct AI, to handle tasks via text messages and phone calls, layering it on top of Gigi.
