Despite prevailing market challenges such as rising mortgage rates, eXp Realty's 2026 eXp Con event in Salt Lake City was marked by high energy and a focus on agent success. Nearly 4,000 agents from 20 countries gathered at the Salt Palace Convention Center for four days of general and breakout sessions.
The event aimed to inspire agents by highlighting success stories of individuals who overcame significant personal hardships, such as Rafael “Rey” Reyes, Krista Mashore, and Daniel Fitness, to become top performers. These narratives were presented as examples of how agents can find opportunities and achieve success even amidst market headwinds.
eXp Realty emphasized its commitment to supporting agents by introducing new resources. These include MCP First, AI of Choice, which integrates with the eXp Hub and other applications using large language models; ShowGo for coordinating open house and showing coverage; and eXp Ready, offering sellers up to $50,000 to prepare their homes for sale, with payment due at closing.
Wendy Forsythe, eXp's chief operating officer, stated that the company's mission is to be the most agent-centric brokerage, with all initiatives focused on strengthening the value proposition for agents and making their jobs easier. The brokerage also announced a new mortgage joint venture with nonbank lender Newrez, scheduled to launch in January 2027.
Keynote speaker Gary Vaynerchuk, chairman of VaynerX and CEO of VaynerMedia, urged agents to leverage artificial intelligence and social media to drive business growth and generate leads. He shared his own prolific content creation strategy and encouraged agents to overcome perceived excuses for not adopting these tools, emphasizing that failure to do so would leave them behind. Additional sessions with Gogo Bethke and Keegan Shivers also focused on leveraging social media for business expansion. Breakout sessions covered topics such as AI in marketing, social content creation, winning expired listings, and maximizing open house potential.
