Elon Musk's super PAC, America PAC, has initiated its general election spending by contributing nearly $90,000 to eight Republican House races. The recipients include Representatives Derrick Van Orden (Wisconsin), Mike Lawler (New York), Jen Kiggans (Virginia), Tom Kean Jr. (New Jersey), Scott Perry (Pennsylvania), Rob Bresnahan (Pennsylvania), and Ryan Mackenzie (Pennsylvania), as well as Scott Singer in Florida.
These independent expenditures mark Musk's first financial backing of the general election cycle. The timing of the disclosures follows a meeting between Musk and Speaker Mike Johnson in Texas last week. This move could further amplify the Republican Party's financial advantage over Democrats heading into the November midterms, as Republicans already possess a substantial fundraising lead, partly due to President Donald Trump's MAGA Inc. super PAC, which holds approximately $400 million.
Musk has reportedly considered a significant investment of at least $100 million to support Republican candidates through America PAC. He was also a major donor in the 2024 cycle, contributing around $290 million to support Trump and the GOP, making him the largest individual donor to any political committee during that period.
