Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic has introduced Pulse, an artificial intelligence product designed to enable law enforcement officers to analyze cryptocurrency transactions and wallet addresses in the field without requiring specialized blockchain knowledge. Announced on Wednesday, the tool provides users with plain-language financial summaries within seconds of inputting a wallet address or transaction hash.
Elliptic positions Pulse as a means for frontline personnel to make immediate decisions about whether a case warrants further investigation, whether crypto is found on a suspect's device, in a victim's possession, or at a crime scene. If deeper analysis is needed, the full findings, including reasoning and field notes, can be sent to Elliptic's existing forensic tools or an agency's internal systems.
Jackson Hull, Elliptic's chief technology officer, stated that the product was developed because "crypto across every law enforcement agency now, not just specialized units." The London-based firm noted that Pulse utilizes the same intelligence as its investigator-grade platform, which it claims screens over 99% of crypto trading volume across more than 65 blockchains.
Elliptic also emphasized its commitment to human oversight, model transparency, and ensuring officers retain final judgment, aligning with a governance framework for agentic AI it recently published. The launch follows a period of significant activity for Elliptic, including a $120 million funding round from investors such as Nasdaq and Deutsche Bank. The firm's research has also been instrumental in several major enforcement actions, including a Secret Service crypto freeze, a DOJ seizure of laundering infrastructure, and findings related to Iran's central bank acquiring USDT.
