Dropbox is implementing workforce reductions, with co-CEO Ashraf Alkarmi announcing on Wednesday that approximately 9% of its global staff, equating to about 200 employees, will be laid off. The cuts span across the Engineering, Product, Design, and General & Administrative teams. Alkarmi stated in an internal memo that these decisions are necessary to concentrate resources on strategic priorities for long-term growth and customer impact, despite the company being profitable. As part of these organizational changes, Chief Technology Officer Ali Dasdan will also be leaving Dropbox, with his last day scheduled for November 18th to ensure a smooth transition.
