AI cloud computing firm CoreWeave announced its expansion into Indonesia, establishing its first data center presence in the Asia Pacific region. The company will add three new facilities in the country, which will provide a total of 360 megawatts of contracted power. CoreWeave will own and operate all three sites.
The expansion is driven by increasing demand for AI compute located close to data and users in Asia, according to the company, citing latency-sensitive workloads and data locality requirements. CoreWeave also plans to build and train a local team to operate the new facilities, supporting Indonesia's AI ambitions.
As of March, CoreWeave operated 49 data centers globally. The company has been investing heavily in its data center footprint to meet the surge in demand for AI cloud infrastructure. In May, CoreWeave raised the lower end of its 2026 capital spending forecast to between $31 billion and $35 billion this year, citing higher component prices amid a shortage of memory chips. This year, the company has also secured multi-billion-dollar cloud deals, including an expanded $21 billion agreement with Meta and a multi-year deal with Anthropic.
