A private investigator, Steve Ridge, has reportedly identified a potential suspect in the decades-old cold case of missing Iowa news anchor Jodi Huisentruit. Huisentruit disappeared on June 27, 1995, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Ridge told FOX 10 that he received a tip from a woman who was dating a person of interest in the case. According to Ridge, this person of interest confessed to the crime during a heated moment while being pursued by authorities in Minnesota, reportedly hitting the steering wheel and saying, 'I did it.' Ridge stated he has provided this evidence, which includes photos, letters, and checks, to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation. He also mentioned a $100,000 reward for information leading to Huisentruit's remains. The update comes after John Vansice, the last person known to have seen Huisentruit alive and a primary person of interest, died in 2024. Vansice had previously denied any involvement in her disappearance.
